If you choose to run an automated station without scheduled playlists, you can still have a limited option for identifying your station at intervals via AutoID.
You add songs to the AutoID rotation, and specify how often to play them. Any audio cuts that are in the library may be added to the AutoID rotation, though, normally, one only adds IDS, tracked links and jingles to the AutoID rotation.
Some stations have used AutoID to schedule high-rotation audio, such as an "A" list of current songs, without the expense of a music scheduling software program.
We recommend that, for advanced automation, however, that you do use scheduling software, as this is much more flexible.
As an entry- level option, however, AutoID will get you automated quickly and without fuss!
