DPS currently works via the Ton files but these tags are applied to the inside of the music file and contain most of the information from them. This is how DPS will work exclusively in the near future. On a large library it can take some time for this information to be added to each tune the first time around but is well worth doing. It means your audio (if in mp2 or mp3 format) can never again be separated from important information, such as segue points, even if you lose or destroy the ton files. (see also Tageditor)
